Attractions in Mikkeli
Special attractions unique to Mikkeli area (outside the city center):
Pursialankatu 6, open hours 10 am - 6 pm
Kenkävero site is an old, restored vicarage of the age over 550 years. It has a gift shop full of Finnish handicrafts and a restaurant that serves both traditional and nouvelle cuisine. It is located about 1 km away from the city center.
Kuopiontie 68, open hours 10 am - 6 pm
Tertin kartano is a genuine family manor. It has a restaurant, accommodation properties, a gourmet shop and a café. It is located about 7 km from the city center.
Mikkeli Cathedral was designed by Finnish church architect Josef Stenbäck. It was built in 1896–1897 and represents the Gothic Revival style like many other churches designed by Stenbäck. The bell tower is in the western gable of the church. The church has 1,200 seats.
Naisvuori hill with it's water tower is one of the most distinguished landmarks in Mikkeli. It is located close to the city center and you can see above the city from the top of it. The highest point is 43 meters above lake Saimaa and 122 meters above sea level. The top of the water tower is unfortunately closed during winter season.
Taito Shop is located very near to Carlson. It’s specialized in selling Finnish handicrafts; the products range from decorative items, jewellery and apparel to little treats and household items.

Akseli is a cozy shopping center located diagonally from the market square. It has great variety of

Stella is Mikkeli’s newest shopping attraction; it was opened in November, 2011. The atmosphere is very cosmopolitan and it is located right next to the market square.
